Celebrations in an unusual way – in Jelgava, in honor of a hat-trick, a large salmon is thrown onto the ice field

Kristaps Roķis, who also had two assists, Daniels Anderson, Gustavs Krūmiņš and Artūrs Karaša scored for the “Zemgale”/LLU unit. Meanwhile, in the opposing team, Jáko Kūsisto stood out with three goals.

Kiekko-Vantaa forward Kuusisto scored his third goal of the game in the second period to extend his team’s lead to four goals.

Kuusisto’s “hat-trick” celebration took place in an unusual way, because instead of hats, he received a big and proper salmon.

A player achieves a hat-trick when he scores three goals in one game. After scoring a hat-trick, the player is usually congratulated with many hats as they are thrown onto the ice.

Sometimes the player chooses one of the hats to keep as a memento of what they have accomplished. Other times, the team collects hats, selects those that are not too damaged to donate to charity.

On Friday, in the first meeting between the two teams, “Zemgale”/LLU hockey players were successful, winning with the result 3:1.

With 16 points won in 16 games, the Jelgava team is in 12th place in the competition of 14 teams, while “Kiekko-Vantaa” is in third position with 38 points in 21 matches, according to the news agency “LETA”.
