Alongside Alba Berlin, Telekom Baskets Bonn remain the only undefeated team in the German Basketball League. On Saturday evening, the Rhinelanders prevailed 98:65 (50:28) against the MLP Academics Heidelberg and, thanks to the better point difference, pushed Berlin out of first place in the table. Bonn’s head coach Tuomas Iisalo won against his younger brother Joonas Iisalo, who has been in charge of Heidelberg since this season and has assisted his brother for the past two years.

The Bonners hit their first nine shots from the field, already had a double-digit lead in the middle of the first quarter and dominated the first ten minutes with 30:13. From then on, the hosts controlled the game and were up to 38 points ahead in the third quarter.

Chemnitz fires from the line of three – and wins after overtime in Ulm

ratiopharm Ulm had already lost the difficult home game against the Chemnitz Niners. With a strong final quarter (22:15), the guests had caught up in front of 4,428 spectators after a weak third period of the game, at 83:83 it went into overtime. There, the Saxons had the upper hand, won 99:93 – and set a new record: the Niners sunk 18 three-pointers (out of 48!), more than in any game before. Despite good performances by top scorer Yago dos Santos (20 points) and Karim Jallow (14 points, 12 rebounds), Ulm had to be accused of being too careless, especially with defensive rebounds.

In the parallel game, the BG Göttingen got back on track after two defeats and defeated the surprise team Würzburg with 82:74. Top scorer was violet player Till Pape (19 points).
