Tottenham paste Man City after making history

KOMPAS.com – Tottenham Hotspur are back at Manchester City in the Premier League standings after winning their seventh Premier League win this season.

Recently, Antonio Conte’s Tottenham managed to beat Everton 2-0 in the 11th week of the Premier League match, Saturday (15/10/2022) night WIB.

Tottenham’s two winning goals were scored by Harry Kane (59′-penalty) and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (86′).

The nick against Everton has further sharpened Harry Kane’s trend of always scoring goals in the Premier League this season to five games in a row.

Quoted from Opta, it is Harry Kane’s longest ever scoring record in the Premier League.

The victory over Everton actually did not change Tottenham’s position in the Premier League standings.

The Lilywhites, Tottenham’s nickname, remain in third place with a collection of 23 points from 10 matches.

Tottenham’s point acquisition is identical to that of Man City, who have only played nine times in second place.

The distance between Tottenham and leaders Arsenal, who have also just finished nine games, is one point.

Although the position in the standings has not changed, Tottenham have successfully made history after collecting 23 points from 10 matches.

That is Tottenham’s highest points tally after completing 10 games in the Premier League era (since 1992-1993).

Quoted from Opta, Tottenham’s highest point acquisition after the previous 10 matches was 23 points in the 1963-1964 season.

The 11th week of the Premier League this season will be closed with the big match Liverpool vs Man City.

The Liverpool vs Man City duel will be held at Anfield Stadium on Sunday (16/10/2022) at 22.30 WIB.

On paper, Pep Guardiola’s Man City is more favored than Liverpool because of performance trends and squad conditions.

Man City is now the only team that is still unbeaten in the Premier League this season.

On the other hand, Liverpool are now stuck in 11th place in the Premier League standings after failing to win in the last three matches.

However, Man City should be wary especially because they will play at Anfield Stadium.

Quoted from BBC Sport, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 27 home games in the Premier League.
