Tomorrow starts the final of school games that will face champions from all over Peru | News

Everything was ready for tomorrow, Sunday 23rd, to begin the final stage of the thirtieth edition of the Sports and Parasports School Games (JEDPA), organized by the Ministry of Education, which will take place from October 24 to 28 in our capital.

The start of this great school sports party will take place at 6 pm, in the sports center 1 of Videna de San Luis (Door 1, Av. Del Aire S/N).

Nearly 1,200 students aged 13 and 14, who reach the national final after winning the macro-regional stage, will compete in the disciplines of chess, athletics, swimming, table tennis, judo, basketball, soccer, futsal, volleyball, handball and paraathletics.

This stage will also call for female football representatives from the P category (15 to 17 years old) peoples of origin. They belong to the Wampis (Loreto), Aymara (Puno), Collao (Cusco), Shawi (Loreto), Awajun (Amazon), Chanka (Ayacucho), Central Quechua (Pasco) and Conibo Shipibo (Ucayali) ethnic groups. The women’s soccer competitions will be held at the IIEE Bartolomé Herrera in San Miguel.

In addition, the games address diversity and inclusion by incorporating the paraathletics discipline, in which students from 13 to 17 years old with mild intellectual disabilities participate, who will compete in Videna de San Luis.

It should be noted that the national winners will represent us in the South American School Games, which will take place the first week of December in Brazil.

The competitions of the final stage will be held in Legado – Videna (San Luis), CEPRE of the University of Lima (Ate), Legado Polideportivo Villa el Salvador, IE Bartolomé Herrera (San Miguel) and IE Ricardo Palma (Surquillo). Admission is free.

The games began with the participation of more than 3 million students from 20,000 educational institutions across the country. They first competed in their school and then had to overcome the UGEL, regional and macro-regional stages to reach the national stage.
