Laporta says he wants Messi back in winter, taking advantage of this window in which the fair play of the league is not so demanding. Remember that for next summer, the rule to sign will be from 1 to 4 again, which would make signing even more difficult.
So that, the objective would be to sign Messi in January, but the mission is very complicated for Barça for different reasons: 1) PSG do not intend to part with Messi in the middle of the season. He has a valid contract and it would be necessary to negotiate with Nasser Al Khelaifi. 2) PSG, given its historical relationship with Barça, do not intend to do Laporta any favors now or Bartomeu before. 3) Messi is focused on his season at PSG and the World Cup.
No direct contacts
For all these reasons, the operation planned by Laporta and Mateu Alemany seems to be impossible. At the moment, according to information from all parties, Barça has not yet contacted the player directly. Some collaborator close to the president has made a move without success, Well, neither Leo nor PSG are for the job of picking up the phone. Laporta, who attended the Ballon d’Or Gala in Paris, did not coincide with Messi on those dates either. They did not see each other, as the president intended. If they haven’t spoken to each other since his departure from Barça, it was unfeasible for them to meet in the French capital.
Barça is aware that time is against them as we are in October and an operation of this caliber should have advanced significantly. At the moment, Barça has not carried out any specific step. And much less Leo and his environment.
