Knicks fans can be reassured, they finally have a point guard worthy of the name! Author of 16 points, Jalen Brunson won over Madison Square Garden with his leadership and his game. He was exactly the type of leader the team needed, and the Knicks won 117-96 against the Pistons after scoring up to 32 points ahead!
After a balanced first quarter, where the Knicks were very disciplined, Tom Thibodeau’s players took off thanks to their substitutes with Immanuel Quickley’s drives, Isaiah Hartenstein’s 3-pointers or even the opportunism of Miles McBride.
Discreet in attack, Evan Fournier showed himself in defense, and it was he who set the tone for the second half by covering Bojan Bogdanovic from 3-pointers, then sending Mitchell Robinson to the dunk. The only downside is the injury exit of Cam Reddish, injured in the ankle.
On the Detroit side, very little to highlight. Lost ball after stray ball, no collective, clumsiness… Only the rookies Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren were level, and that’s not necessarily a good sign.
