The Barça in hands of the Plzen

Barcelona gets into a tremendous mess. The blaugranas don’t depend on themselves to advance to the next round. Barça scratched a point against Inter and their advance to the second round is very complicated. A victory for Inter against Viktoria Plzen sends the Catalans to the Europa League. Inter will face a Czech team in Milan that has not yet scored in this Champions League. For its part, Bayern Munich will be in the round of 16 after their win in the Czech Republic.

In group B, Bruges achieves the mathematical pass to the round of 16 to the detriment of Atlético de Madrid. Those of Cholo Simeone are not officially eliminated, but life is very complicated. The rojiblanco team could not achieve victory against the Belgians and will play it all against Leverkusen at Cívitas and on the last day against Porto in Portugal. Even so, Atleti depends on itself to reach the round of 16. Bruges are not yet first in the group but they are almost sentenced.

Napoli continues intractable. With today’s 4-2 victory over Ajax, they materialize their pass to the round of 16. Those of Spalleti have been a roller throughout the group stage and they are the only team that has full victories. However, the first place in group A can still be disputed by Liverpool, second to three points. The Italian team is facing the leadership of group A, but it is not yet a mathematician.

Tottenham ends the day leading a group in which anything can happen. The Spurs lead Group D, but all the teams still have options. Just three points separate the leader of the Eintacht, last classified.

Manchester City and Real Madrid have been the first two classified for the round of 16. And both did it by signing a draw. The white club achieved a 1-1 in the last breath against Shaktar Donetsk, while the ‘citizens’ signed a goalless match in Copenhagen. A) Yes, ‘merengues’ and ‘citizens’ certified their ticket for the next round.

Rüdiger’s goal in minute 95 corroborated the white club’s pass to the round of 16 in Poland. Despite not having secured first place, Real Madrid lead Group F with ten points, to Leipzig’s six, who secured a vital 2-0 win against Celtic. The Ukrainians are third with five points, and the Scots close the group with one.

In group G, Manchester City also closed their ticket for the next round. Pep Guardiola’s team could not confirm the first place after the 0-0 in Copenhagen and Sevilla is still alive. The Seville club achieved a valuable draw in Dortmund and clings to being in the round of 16. The ‘citizens’ lead the group with ten points, for seven of the Germans. They close the group, the team of Jorge Sampaoli and Danes with two each.

For its part, a Paris-Saint Germain without Messi could not achieve the mathematical classification. Christophe Galtier’s team could not get past the draw against Benfica, which is still in the fight to assault the lead. The French and the Portuguese lead group H with eight points, while Juventus and Maccabi Haifa close it with three each. The ‘vecchia Signora’ was defeated in Israel and has no margin for error if it wants to be in the round of 16.

In addition, Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Milan puts them at the top of the standings and the draw between Dinamo Zagreb and Salzburg leaves Group E with everything to decide. The English lead the group with seven points, to the Austrians’ six. Italians and Croatians close the group with four points each.
