Czech giant Adam Klapka, who is 203 centimeters tall, didn’t make it at Calgary’s preseason camp, with which he signed a two-year rookie contract in the spring, so he went to the farm. For the Calgary Wranglers, he has started two out of three duels, and in the last one against the Colorado farm, he scored for the first time.
The pupil of Slavia Prague skated in the power play between the circles, from which he blasted the Eagles goalie with a shot from the first. However, his goal did not mean any turning point in the match. Two and a half minutes before the end, Klapek only reduced the score to 2:6. The Wranglers’ first goal was scored by his national team colleague Radim Zohorna.
Last season, the 22-year-old Klapka played in the extra league for Liberec and in the first league for Venátky nad Jizerou. He also scored his first starts in the senior national team.
