A great scare lived this Monday, October 10, the athletes and attendees of the XII South American Games which are disputed in Asuncion, Paraguay.
In the afternoon, while table tennis activities were being carried out, a “start of fire” in the stadium of this discipline located in the National Secretary of Sports.

The compound had to be evacuated until the authorities controlled the situation. Although no injuries were reported, the table tennis day had to be paused due to smoke and in order to avoid any mishap.
As reported from the place, what happened has to do with some welding work that was being carried out at the same time that the activities of the South American Games were being held.

The organizing committee of the games is expected to hold an extraordinary meeting to define the continuity of the table tennis commitments.
