Scandal in Russian hockey: A player bled from the mouth after being hit in the stomach. I have already fallen, the ambulance refused to take me away

Just to remind you: Cherepanov then collapsed less than three minutes before the end of the match with Chekhov, and attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. The subsequent investigation showed, among other things, that the ambulance, which was supposed to be mandatorily present at all KHL matches, left five minutes before the end of the match, and the defibrillator in the hall did not work.

Now, 14 years later, they are dealing with a scandal in Russia, which is all the more spicy because there was an ambulance at the stadium, but the driver of the car didn’t want to go anywhere after the match.

The incident took place at the Junior MHL match in Novosibirsk between Sibir and Ufa. According to the Sport Ekspress server, visiting hockey player Dmitriy Tabatadze received a blow to the stomach with a puck. He felt sick and started bleeding from the mouth.

When the visiting club demanded to take the player to the hospital, the driver refused, according to the server, saying that his working hours end in 15 minutes and he would not have time to carry out the transport during that time.

Ufa boss Rinat Bashirov was beside himself with rage and demanded an explanation from Sibir. “I said I was asking for an explanation of the whole situation. And that it is unacceptable that an ambulance does not take away an injured person on the grounds that the driver’s working hours are over,” Bashirova is quoted by the MatchTV server.

In the end, he had to find alternative transport for his club’s players to the hospital, where, at least according to the first reports, suspicions of more serious injuries to internal organs were not confirmed.
