Santa Fe hopes to return to the eight and classify among the best of Liga BetPlay | Colombian Soccer | Betplay League

Independiente Santa Fe is out of the eight qualifiers for the 2022-II BetPlay League and has already missed several important results to seal their access to the final homers and their recent lost matches against Alianza Petrolera (4-0) and Jaguares (2 -1), were results that left him in serious trouble for his aspirations to succeed again in Colombian soccer.

With the arrival of Alfredo Arias at Independiente Santa Fe this season, the Uruguayan began with the goal of improving a limited squad with few stars in order to be the protagonists of the League in this second semester and shine again like previous seasons where it was for a long period, protagonist.

However, during this second semester season, Santa Fe has had to deal with casualties due to injuries and suspensions, which have not allowed it to have a regular base team and that has been reflected in the latest results.

Despite this, the Uruguayan coach has managed to move chips with what he could and have Santa Fe fighting for the classification with two games remaining in the regular phase and although they are one victory away from achieving it, the panorama became complicated after the goal difference and the tight table.

Even with the complicated scenario, Santa Fe’s aspirations are still valid and in the next two dates they could qualify again after a year and a half absent in Colombian soccer finals.

Santa Fe’s last participation in the League finals was in the 2021 opening, that is, a year and a half ago, where that season he managed to be second in the standings with 33 points, but was eliminated in the play-offs at the hands of Junior in a back and forth series.

From there, Independiente Santa Fe ceased to be the protagonist and had a hard time, because in the second half of that same 2021, it failed to qualify, so it ended up eliminated with 25 points in tenth position and seeing how other clubs raised titles.

The most recent failure of Santa Fe in the BetPlay League was in the 2022 opening that Atlético Nacional achieved, where they were left out in recent dates and with 27 points they were unable to get their ticket to the finals, prolonging another failure of not being able to enter between top eight.

Now, with two remaining dates, Santa Fe hopes to finish qualifying and avoid three consecutive semesters eliminated and thus return the joy to its fans, who for several seasons have not seen their team fighting in the finals for a title. Cali will be his next goal and in front of his audience to return to the top eight.
