Robinho, requested in extradition by Italy to pay sentence of years in prison

Robson de Souza, popularly known as Robinho, was requested for extradition for the sentence imposed on him by the gang rape of a young albanian girl in Milan, Italy, in 2013.

In recent months there have been contacts between Italy and Brazil and according to the Ansa agency, it is “probable” that the Brazilian authorities have provided information on the whereabouts of the former player.

Consequently, a formal extradition request for the act committed against the 22-year-old woman in a nightclub.

According to the investigations, the former soccer player would have made the victim drink until leaving her unconscious to force her into the cloakroom with more men without her being able to oppose.

The events occurred while the former attacker had a contract with Milan, a team in which he was for 4 seasons, from 2010 to 2014.

The Italian Supreme Court upheld the 9 year sentence decided by the Court of Milan and confirmed by the Court of Appeal.

Nevertheless, the brazilian constitution does not allow extradition of their citizens, so they might not deliver it.

In addition to Robinho, his friend Ricardo Falco -also sentenced to nine years in prison in Italy- and 4 other men participated in the attack on the young woman.
