Presentation of the competitions of the II Catalan Week of Sport in Olot

In the framework of the II Catalan Sports Weekthe Catalan Skating Federation that day Union of Sports Federations of Catalonia (UFEC), with the support of the General Secretary of Sport and Physical Activity (SKEAF) il’City Hall of Olot organize the first edition of the international roller hockey tournament GoldenCat. Between this Thursday, October 13 and Sunday, 16, Olot will become the epicenter of international roller hockey, with the participation of the national teamsGermany, France i Italyboth female and male, and the selection of Swiss, who will participate only with the women’s team. The Catalan National Team will compete against these world-class teams.

The competition will take place at the Olot sports hall. On Friday and Saturday the matches will start at 9am and end at 9pm (each day will have 7 matches) while on Thursday, the competition will be at 7pm and 9pm. The finals have been scheduled for Sunday at 11:30am and 1:30pm. The tournament will have free entry every day (pre-booking is required) except Sunday, which is €3. He has had the assistance of the president of the Catalan Skating Federation, Benjamin Pons; the general secretary of the UFEC, Elizabeth Perezi Aniol SellabonaCouncilor for Sports of Olot.

During the presentation, the call-ups for the Catalan National Teams (Men’s and Women’s) were announced by the selectors Jordi Camps i Josep Maria Barberà, respectively. Recover the tournament format of the Blanes Golden Cup from a decade ago, as well as the prestigious one America’s Cup of hockey skates of the South American Skate Confederation (CSP) held in Vic the 2010.

Also part of the Catalan Sports Week is the darts competition, which will be held on Saturday, October 15 from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Catalonia will play against France) in the area outside the entrance to the sports hall. The Trepitja Garrotxa which will be released on October 23 organized by Excursionist Center Olot is also included in the second edition of this Catalan sports event. The first edition of the Catalan Sports Week was held in 1935, and this year 2022 it recovers with the participation of more than 2,000 athletes from 22 countries, thirty sports federations involved and official competitions and exhibitions of 30 different sports, which will be held at 20 headquarters in the demarcation of Girona.
