Vannes and Aix reach the semi-finals of Pro D2

“We’re in the semis! We’re in the semis! » The La Rabine stadium, sold out for the eleventh time this season, sang at the top of its lungs. And the bagpipes blew late into the night as the leader rolled: eight tries and a heavy score for Rouen (52-14). A largely improved victory for RC Vannes, synonymous with qualification for the Pro D2 semi-finals. Vannes will have the opportunity to host these semi-finals on May 31 or June 1. Hoping for a possible final to reach the Top 14 on June 8 at the Ernest-Wallon stadium in Toulouse.

Aix-en-Provence also did well by winning (43-8) against Valence-Romans (43-8) who conceded seven tries. Thanks to this new improved success, Provence Rugby (2nd, 86 points) validated its place in the semi-finals following the loss without bonus from Béziers to Grenoble (34-19). FC Grenoble signed its seventh victory in a row against AS Béziers (34-19). In addition to suffering the domination of the Isère pack, the Biterrois who had rotated their squad, were penalized by their indiscipline and their errors. Price: 24 to 7 at the break (a double from Javakhia 6th and 39th, Sarragallet 14th). The punishment continued after the locker room with a try from Couilloud.

CA Brive won its derby against Aurillac (45-13). An improved victory which allows the Corréziens to return to the top 6. This promises for the last two days of the Championship.

In the opposing Landes derby, Dax went for a historic victory (13-18) on the Mont-de-Marsan field. Finally, Soyaux Angoulême achieved a great achievement on the 28th day by winning against Nevers at the Stade du Pré Fleuri (15-16). A victory which ensures that the Charentais remain in Pro D2. Colomiers won 24-20 against Montauban.
