Persib vs Persija Delayed Due to Kanjuruhan Tragedy

PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) postponed all Liga 1 matches for a week, including Persib Bandung vs Persija Jakarta which is scheduled to take place this afternoon, Sunday (2/10), at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium.

The decision was taken following a riot at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, which resulted in the death toll of up to 130 people on Saturday (1/10) night.

Based on the decision from PT LIB, the Persib vs Persija match was also postponed. This was officially announced by the Persib.

“Furthermore, Persib will continue to coordinate with PT LIB and PSSI regarding the schedule of continued matches due to the decision to postpone,” wrote Persib’s statement received by CNNIndonesia.com, Sunday (2/10).

Meanwhile, for all Bobotoh who have bought tickets for the Persib vs Persija match, there is no need to worry, because the tickets that have been purchased can still be used for postponed matches.

Thus, spectators who have purchased tickets will still have the right to watch the postponed match of Persib vs. Persija, whether the status has exchanged e-tickets with marker bracelets or not.

Persib also expressed their condolences for the Kanjuruhan tragedy that killed hundreds of people, including two police officers.

“Persib expresses its condolences for the incident that occurred at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, Saturday, October 1, 2022. The incident after the Arema FC match against Persebaya Surabaya caused casualties,” Persib wrote.

“Hopefully the victim’s family will be given fortitude, the injured will recover soon, and the deceased can find the best place by the side of God Almighty. Hopefully this incident will be the last one and no more victims will fall in the name of football,” continued Persib.
