Perez, Rozner, Pavon and… Langasque for now qualified for Dubai

Despite failing to make the cut Friday night in Vilamoura, Victor Perez (pictured) will be at the Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai in three weeks to play the season finale of the DP World Tour. Just like Antoine Rozner and Matthieu Pavon. For Romain Langasque, projected 48th in the ranking before the two rounds of this weekend in Portugal, it will be necessary on the other hand to garner points at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in fifteen days in Sun City (South Africa) to be sure to be present in the Emirates.

And the fight is intense this week to keep his right to play complete on the DP World Tour in 2023, like Benjamin Hebert, Robin Roussel, Joel Stalter et Frederic Lacroixall in Portugal Masters top 13 after 36 holesfor some other French golfers present in the Algarve, the ambitions are much higher.

Although he did not make the cut Friday night at Vilamoura (84th with a score of +2 total), Victor Perez is thus already guaranteed to be at the start within a fortnight of Nedbank Golf Challenge (top 60 in the ranking) but above all DP World Tour Championship scheduled from November 17 to 20 in Dubai, bringing together the 50 best players of the 2021-22 season of the DP World Tour. The Tarbais, winner of the Dutch Open on May 29, is indeed in 21st place in the European ranking with 1,273.1 points, which now offers him a ticket to The Open 2023 au Royal Liverpool.

Respectively 33rd and 34th in this same ranking in the projection game, Antoine Rozner13th to Portugal Masters after two rounds, and Matthew Pavonmissed cut in Portugal, will also be at Gary Player from November 10 to 13 and also in Dubai the following week. Their “main” objective is now to grab a place in the top 30 which would allow them, too, to be at the start of the British Open next July on the legendary course ofHoylake.

A very important Nedbank Golf Challenge for Langasque

Absent this week for the last tournament of the regular season of the DP World Tour, Romain Langasque is currently ranked 48th in the ranking (-2 places). If we can think that the top 53 will be enough to enter the field of the DP World Tour Championship (10 million dollars in prize money) in mid-November, it will however be necessary for the Azurean to achieve a good performance at Nedbank Golf Challenge ($6 million endowment) to consolidate its place in this famous top 50.

Currently, the former winner of the British Amateur 2015 has 840 points while the Australian Adam Scott, currently credited with 812.9 points, occupies 53rd place in the ranking. The one who should, in all likelihood and in the game of formalized packages in the coming days – the American Will Zalatoris, 5th in the ranking, has still had a back injury since the end of August – to be enough to start the best-endowed tournament of the season, excluding Majors and the World Championship. To be continued !
