Jokin Altuna understands that “the balls are good for distance” in the choice of Atano III for Sunday’s match
Peio Etxeberria has not found what he was looking for in the choice of material this Wednesday at the Atano III for the match of the Cuatro y Medio Championship that will face Jokin Altuna on Sunday at the San Sebastian fronton. “All the balls are of the same pattern”, assured the one from Zenotz, who has just beaten the Amezketarra the last two times that they have been rivals at this distance: last year in Bergara within the official competition and this year, specifically in June, in the qualifying round for the San Fermín Tournament held in Mungia.
“They have little exit from the frontis and they walk a lot on the ground,” Peio Etxeberria specified. «In the election of Soria for the duel against Darío there was another type of material. He thought that there would also be today, but it has not been like that ».
Jokin Altuna differs from his rival when analyzing the lot: «It was similar to last week to play against Peña II at Ogueta. I have had doubts. In the latest editions of the Cuatro y Medio they put balls of a darker or lighter color. The dark ones are generally faster and the white ones are calmer. At the Ogueta, Jon Ander preferred lighter material than mine. Today the reverse has happened. But I haven’t looked at the color so much either, but rather that they fit well in my hand. I have not come with anything decided in advance.
The balls chosen by Peio Etxeberria, of 105.7 (number 3) and 105.6 (4), are heavier than those preferred by Altuna III, of 104.9 (1) and 105.4 (4).
In the election also held this Wednesday at Bilbao’s Bizkaia, Unai Laso opted for two of 105.5 (1) and 104.7 (2), while Aitor Elordi opted for 105.4 (3) and 105 (4 ).
