This Saturday starts the XII edition of the South American Games Asunción 2022 (also known as the Odesur Games), and the Chilean athletes are already prepared for what this competition will be like, which will serve as preparation for the Pan American Games Santiago 2023 and for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
On this occasion, the Odesur Games will be held in the city of Asunción (Paraguay) from October 1 to 15being the first time in history that this competition will be played in Guaraní lands.
On the other hand, in this edition, the Paraguayan Olympic Committee estimated that there will be a participation of more than 7,000 athletes from the different member countries of the South American Sports Organizationin addition to the sports delegations of Aruba, Curacao y Panamawhich were invited to the contest.
It should be remembered that the last edition of the Odesur Games was held in 2018 in Cochabamba (Bolivia), with Colombian athletes as big winners, who achieved a medal table of 94 gold, 74 silver and 71 bronze.
Meanwhile, the Team Chile He was in fifth place in the medal table, winning 37 gold, 34 silver and 60 bronze.
During the next few days of these games, Chilean athletes will seek to position themselves at the top of the medal table, demonstrating their talent in various sports such as Judo, Rafting, Cycling, Skateboarding, Football, Paddleamong many other disciplines.
