The club from the north of Portugal also officially announced the takeover of the shares, but at the same time it was important for the Braga officials to emphasize that the club is still the majority shareholder.

Braga are currently third in the Portuguese league (19 points) behind leaders Benfica (25) and Porto (22).

Since 2018, the Red and Whites have always occupied one of the top four places in the Primeira Liga at the end of the season. The club currently plays in Group D of the Europa League, along with Union Berlin, Malmö FF and Union Saint-Gilloise.

Braga have won the cup three times (last in 2021) and two times the League Cup (last in 2020) in their history. However, the club is still waiting in vain for its first championship.

QSI is chaired by Nasser al-Khelaifi (48), who is also PSG President and head of the European football club association ECA and CEO of the beIN Media Group.
