Murphy’s law – Diari de Girona

Murphy’s Law is a comical and mostly fictitious way of explaining misfortunes in all kinds of areas that, for the most part, denotes a pessimistic and resigned attitude. There are different theories and many versions about the origin of the aforementioned Law, but absolutely all of them portend a negative end for what was predicted.

In Montilivi, on the other hand, Murphy’s Law means something different from yesterday and is based on positive news, especially after Paulo Gazzaniga played his first starting game with the Girona team and managed to break with the feeling of insecurity under the posts that has accompanied Míchel’s team for days.

And why does it have to be Murphy’s Law you may ask fans? Well, very simply, Gazzaniga is originally from the Argentinian town of Murphy, located in the south of the Argentine province of Santa Fe, to be more concise, about 160 km from Rosario, hometown of Leo Messi; and 330 from the capital Buenos Aires.

The goalkeeper of Girona FC is a member of the Gazzaniga family, his grandfather was already a goalkeeper, his father was also one, among others of River Plate with whom he won several titles; and his brother, two years younger than him, is currently the goalkeeper of Racing del Ferrol in the Primera RFEF.

The Gazzaniga family is not the only famous one in Murphy, a town of only 4,000 inhabitants, as a dozen famous footballers have come from there, including Mauricio Pochettino, whom the current goalkeeper of Girona FC had coach at both Southampton and Tottenham.

For those who had an unknown about what he could contribute, yesterday Paulo Gazzaniga dispelled doubts in the first substitutions, with a couple or three specific actions, showing that he does not get nervous, that he controls the game from above, that he does not the ball trembles at his feet and if he has to leave the area, he does it forcefully and very judiciously. In the first game as a starter he imposed his law, that of the Murphy goalkeeper.
