Monaco ‘close to winning’ regrets Clement after loss to Lille

At home, Lille won 4-3 against Monaco in a crazy game.

Philippe Clement, Monaco coach:

«It was a spectacular game with two teams that really play football. All the neutral spectators must have liked the game. But I only take pleasure if we win, I don’t like a spectacular game when we lose! We were very close to winning the game, we had two chances to score the 4-2 and if we put it, they don’t come back. But today we weren’t good enough in one-on-one duels in defense and in midfield. We must improve on this, our young players must take more power and intensity in the duels. We came close to winning so we are disappointed. Now we will have to react on Thursday (in the Europa League). We will have to learn the lessons of this match and learn to be ready on Thursday.»
