FIFA has launched the application process for the Club Aid Program, according to which it will distribute 209 million dollars among entities around the world.
The highest world body recalls in a statement that it already distributed the same amount among 416 clubs from 63 member federations after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
On this occasion, for the first time, clubs will be able to use the so-called Professional Football Platform to request payment of approximately $10,000 for each day that their players are under the discipline of their national team during the Qatar 2022 World Cup and the period corresponding official preparation.
This compensation will be received by the clubs in which the player has played in the two years prior to the Qatari appointment.
“The Club Grants Program is part of a broad collaboration agreement between FIFA and the European Club Association (ECA). It was originally created for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and in 2015 it was expanded to include the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups”, concludes the universal body.
Given this scenario, Millonarios would receive, as compensation for the absence of Juan Pablo Vargas, a sum close to 180 thousand dollars, which would increase according to the performance of Costa Ricans in Qatar, advancing to the following phases.
