Manchester City – Copenhagen: Erling Haaland and the others wandered again (5-0)

‌‌‌The matches follow each other and look alike for Manchester City, even in the Champions League. After largely beating United on Sunday, during the Mancunian derby, thanks to a hat-trick from Erling Haaland (6-3), the Skyblues dominated Copenhagen on Wednesday October 5 with… two new goals from their Norwegian striker. Arrived last summer from Borussia Dortmund, Haaland continues to pile up the goals: already 19 in 13 games this season.

Against Copenhagen, the striker didn’t need much time to get into action. Eight minutes precisely. The time for him to emerge in the middle of the surface to victoriously take back a cross from João Cancelo. Shortly after, the Norwegian doubled the bet (33rd) and made history by becoming the youngest player to reach 28 goals in the Champions League.

Haaland, obviously

‌At half-time, the score was almost flattering for the Danes, only three units behind (the unfortunate Davit Khocholava having conceded an own goal). Aware of the clear domination of his family, Pep Guardiola then allowed himself to rotate. Erling Haaaland thus spent the second period well installed on the bench, where he was quickly joined by Bernardo Silva and João Cancelo.

The Norwegian was able to attend the second act of his club without stress, a carbon copy of the first. With their foot on the ball (City finished with 73% possession), the Skyblues added to the score with a penalty from Riyad Mahrez (55th) and a final achievement from Julian Alvarez (76th). Opposite, the Danes never managed to create real chances, only striking for the first time in the 75th minute!

This new walk in his garden at the Etihad Stadium confirms in any case the dazzling form of Manchester City, completely transformed since the arrival in England of Erling Haaland. The Skyblues are still unbeaten this season, topping Champions League Group G with nine points. Only Borussia Dortmund, 4-1 winner of Sevilla on Wednesday, manages to keep up the pace (six points). The two clubs already seem almost qualified since Sevilla FC and Copenhagen each have only one point.
