The visiting Koblasa appeared in the first serious chance, but did not overturn Kváč’s concrete even twice. On the opposite side, Faško-Rudáš and Vlach threatened, Habal was also ready. After that, Beránek had a promising opportunity, but he couldn’t beat Kváča from a good position. The home White Tigers took the lead in the middle of the first period. After the numerical advantage ended, Rychlovský had another great chance, but the visiting goalkeeper made a brilliant save.

At the beginning of the second 20-minute period, Liberec played a power play, but Habal dealt with Birner’s shot. From a quick counterattack, Kváča Černoch was then checked, the Liberec goalkeeper was attentive. After that, Energie also took advantage of the numerical advantage and used it to score the equalizing goal. In the 34th minute, Gríger drew a nice pass from behind the goal to a completely free Rachůnek, and he didn’t give Kváč a chance with a shot against the post. However, the guests only enjoyed the equalizer for a minute. After that, the active Faško-Rudáš got behind the Karlovy Vary defense and shot over Habal’s shoulder in a flash to give the White Tigers the lead – 2:1.

Najman could have increased the difference of two goals at the beginning of the third part, but Habal kept his team. It struck on the opposite side when, after a well-played renumbering of two to one, the visiting Beránek equalized again. Faško-Rudáš could immediately give Liberec the lead, but his shot from an ideal position between the circles was caught by Habal.

The home team continued to be more active and wanted to win for their side, but Habal resisted. In the 59th minute, however, Rychlovský stretched through the visiting defense, Habal’s attempt was still enough to go away, but the emphatic Ordoš pushed the puck over the goal line. Visiting coach Bruk reached for the coach’s challenge and claimed the attacking player’s position in the goal area, but the goal was recognized. But the West Bohemians did not give up. Although they played in a weakened state, they reached for the game without a goalkeeper. This move worked out great for the guests, and 33 seconds before the third siren, Bartejs sent the game into overtime with his shot.

In the set time, Frolík had the winning shot on the stick, but Habal made a great save. On the other side, Vondráček did not succeed and the fate of the match had to be decided by separate attacks. In them, the only successful executor was the visiting Black and thus scored an extra point for the West Bohemians.
