Korda and Wolf confirm the rebirth of US tennis in 2022

The United States has stayed away from the front pages of world tennis since those days of Pete Sampras and Andy Roddick. Over the years there were some tennis players with sporadic appearances, but not of the magnitude of those last two. In any case, in this 2022 they seem to be regaining prominence.

Sebastian Korda advanced to the final of the ATP 250 in Gijónwhile the surprising Jeffrey John Wolf he got into a title definition for the first time in his career, in florence. The first will be measured against Andrey Rublev, while the second against the winner of the duel between Felix Auger-Aliassime and Loranzo Musetti.

Currently, the United States has 12 players in the Top 100. Of that total, 9 are 25 years old or younger, which indicates that there is a significant generational change. The tennis players are these: Taylor Fritz (8th), 24 years old; Frances Tiafoe (17°)24 years; Tommy Paul (30°)25 years; Maxime Cressy (33rd), 25 years old; Reilly Opelka (37th), 25 years old; Jenson Brooksby (42nd), 21 years old; John Isner (45°), 37 years; Brandon Nakashima (46th), 21 years old; Sebastian Korda (47th), 22 years old; Mark Giron (62nd), 29 years old; Jeffrey John Wolf (75°), 23 years; Y Mackenzie McDonald (79th), 27 years old.

The funny thing is that this year, American tennis already adds 7 titles. They were three from Fritz (Indian Wells, Eastbourne and Tokyo); two from Opelka (Dallas and Houston); one from Cressy (Newport); and another from Nakashima (San Diego). At the same time, accumulate other 11 disputed finals thanks to Tiafoe, Cressy, Opelka, Brooksby, Isner, Giron and now Korda and Wolf.

In the event that the 22 and 23-year-olds establish themselves in Gijón and Florencia, respectively, the United States could continue to increase an atypical figure in recent years on the circuit.
