The application for the lottery of tickets for the games of the Latvian national team at the 2023 world ice hockey championship, which will take place in Riga, has closed, and tickets will be available for purchase from October 15, according to the organizers of the competition.
It has already been reported that the application for the ticket raffle closed at midnight on Wednesday.
After the end of the draw, the winners will be informed about the possibility to buy tickets for the day. All winners will be notified of their win as well as practical information on how to purchase tickets.
After the purchase period, remaining day tickets will go on public sale.
The winners, who have won the right to buy tickets for the matches in Riga, will have to make the purchase in the period from October 15 to October 27.
All those who have registered for the lottery, but have not won the opportunity to buy tickets, will be able to buy tickets for the rest of the day later – in the period from October 28 to November 4.
The remaining day tickets for the matches in Riga will go on sale from November 10, but the sale of tickets for individual matches will start at the beginning of 2023.
Ticket prices for Latvian national team match days vary from 140 to 325 euros, depending on the match day and category. On the other hand, the prices of individual game tickets for Latvian national team matches are from 89 to 135 euros, and parking spaces will be available later, the price of which will be 30 euros.
In the Finnish city of Tampere, which will host the championship together with Latvia, the ticket raffle, communication with applicants and purchase of tickets will take place from October 17 to November 11, and on November 21 it is planned to start the public sale of the remaining day tickets.
The World Championship takes place both in Latvia and in the Finnish city of Tampere, therefore the tickets are drawn separately. In the Tampere draw, you can apply for all competition days, starting with the subgroup matches and ending with the final day. On the other hand, day tickets won in the lottery for the games of the Riga subgroup can only be bought for the days on which the Latvian national team matches will take place.
One group match will take place in Riga, where Canada, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Slovakia, Latvia, Norway, Kazakhstan and Slovenia will compete, as well as two quarter-final matches.
The World Hockey Championship in Riga and Tampere in 2023 will be held from May 12 to 21.
