good news for the Blues, no big injury for Varane

Released on injury against Manchester City this Sunday, the tricolor defender would suffer from a classic sprain.

After his injury against City on Sunday, Raphael Varane underwent initial examinations which proved to be rather reassuring. It would be a simple sprain.

The damage is not too significant, the ligaments have not been affected too much and there has been no bone tearing. It is difficult to give a deadline, it will depend on the next few days but the player escapes at least a big injury. A second good news for the Blues after that of Kingsley Coman’s return to training less than two months before the 2022 World Cup.

But the French team’s infirmary remains full two months before the start of the World Cup, from November 20 to December 18, in Qatar. Admittedly, several players should resume quickly, such as N’Golo Kanté (Chelsea), Presnel Kimpembe (PSG), all absent during the September rally. But Paul Pogba (Juventus) is more than uncertain for the World Cup and Boubacar Kamara (Aston Villa) is already forfeited.
