The SV Elversberg experienced a season like a painting. On the eleventh day of the match, the promoted team from Saarland once again took the lead in Germany’s third-tier men’s soccer division, even defying fierce resistance. “The post was our enemy today,” said SVE coach Horst Steffen after the final whistle against MSV Duisburg (3-0).

Attacker Valdrin Mustafa mostly had his feet in the game: after a pass from Jannik Rochelt, he managed to take the 1-0 lead (12′), but his next shot on goal hit both posts in Duisburg’s goal before he flew back into the field. Nevertheless, the Elversbergers remained relaxed: “We wanted to gamble and have fun, that worked out,” Mustafa’s teammate Semih Sahin laughed afterwards…
