Victorious over Fiji with the offensive bonus point (44-0) for their last group match, the French are well positioned to avoid a major nation in the quarter-finals of the competition.

Contract completed! The women’s XV of France had to win against Fiji to secure second place in Pool C. They did it with style as they scored seven tries in the match and won 44-0 in Whangarei ( New Zealand). This victory concludes an interesting course in the group stage which began with a fine victory over South Africa (40-5) then marred by the defeat against England (13-7) which ended up at the top of the group. . England had already deprived France of a victory at the last VI Nations tournament.

Gaëlle Hermet’s teammates will know their opponent in the quarterfinals next weekend at 10:30 a.m. (Paris time) on Sunday. The eight teams qualified at the end of the group stages on Sunday will be ranked according to their points scored.
