FC Bayern: Thomas Müller reports from the corona quarantine Sports

Thomas Müller (33) would have gladly done without this “triple”!

The Bayern star has been infected with the corona virus for the third time. The record champions announced this in a press release on Saturday.

The national player (118 international matches) has not lost his good mood despite domestic isolation. In a video that Müller posted on his Instagram page (11.4 million followers) on Saturday evening, he says: “Hello folks, as you may have already noticed: the triple, the Covid triple, has come to me. I have to say, this time it wasn’t on my radar.”

And further: “I’m doing very well so far. Of course I hope that it stays that way, I’m confident that I can return to the pitch quickly.”

In addition, Müller thanked the video for the recovery wishes. He spent “an interesting Bundesliga afternoon in front of the television”.

Müller first tested positive for Corona in February 2021 and returned from the Club World Cup in Qatar on a plane. A year later, Müller became infected again.

Teammate Joshua Kimmich (27) also tested positive – for the second time. At the end of November 2021 he was infected with Corona for the first time, then fell out with lung problems (slight infiltration of the lungs) for the rest of the year. Now Kimmich, like Müller, is symptom-free and is in quarantine at home.

There are cases three and four at Bayern within a few days! On September 21, Manuel Neuer (36) and Leon Goretzka (27) had positive tests. The duo had to leave the national team, but were back on the pitch against Leverkusen (4-0).

It is still unclear how long Müller and Kimmich will be missing from the record champions. However, a game in the Champions League group game against Viktoria Pilsen on Tuesday (6.45 p.m.) is out of the question, as Bavarian law requires them to remain in quarantine for five days. Since they are symptom-free, they should leave by Friday at the latest.

Kimmich and Müller would be available again for the league hit next Saturday (October 8th, 6:30 p.m.) in Dortmund. It is questionable, however, whether the duo will be fit enough for the top game after five days of quarantine.
