“Dinamo” of Riga overcomes a three-goal deficit and wins

Hockey school “Rīga” lost to Elektrēni “Energija” 2:3 (0:1, 1:0, 1:1, 0:1) in extra time.

In the 13th minute, Donats Kumelėusks put the hosts in the lead.

Kristers Ansons restored the balance on the scoreboard in the 32nd minute, and Karlis Anderson put the guests in the lead in the 45th minute – 2:1.

In the 56th minute, Ukrainian Danils Tsarkovskis tied the game – 2:2.

In overtime, the home team scored a second before the end, Klimentis Lysak excelling.

Carkovskis scored two (1+1) performance points in the Elektren team.

In the last game of the day, the champion Jelgava “Zemgale”/LLU beat Vilnius “Hockey Punks” 3:2 (2:2, 0:0, 0:0, 1:0) only in overtime.

With the accurate shots of Robert Anderson and Daniel Bunkus, the visitors took the lead twice, but both times the hosts fought back, with goals scored by Tadas Kumelėuskas and Laisvīdas Kudrevičas.

Jelgava players scored the winning goal just eight seconds before the end of overtime, when Roberts Vitols scored.

In this match, two assists went to Reynards Pētersons, while the hosts got two assists (1+1) – both goal scorers.

Goalkeeper Sergejs Pisarenko was recognized as the best home team, and striker Deniss Vilmans was recognized as the best player in the winning team.

“Mogo”/LSPA team returned to the top of the table with 22 points in 11 matches, “Dinamo” Riga has 21 points in 12 matches, and “Zemgale”/LLU team has 17 points in ten matches, while Hockey School “Riga” has scored 11 points in 11 matches. “Hockey Punks” of Vilnius have seven points in ten matches, and “Prizma” of Riga have six, followed by “City” of Kaunas with five points in eight matches. Elektrēni “Energija” and “Daugavpils Ledus Sporta Skola”/”Dinaburga” are ranked at the bottom of the tournament table with four points from seven and two points from nine matches, respectively.

This season, nine teams will play in the league – six from Latvia and three from Lithuania.

In the 2021/2022 season, Jelgava “Zemgale”/LLU won their first Latvian championship title, defeating the previous champion “Olimp”/”Venta 2002” in the series with 4-0.
