Corrientes concluded a very good performance in the National Games

On the closing day of the Corrientes delegation that participates in the national finals of the Evita Games in Mar del Plata, which were held yesterday, the female duo of badminton and boxing with gold stood out. There was money from athletics and basketball 3 vs. 3

More than convincing was the triumph against Buenos Aires of Brisa Echavarría and Belén Sánchez, from Tabay, in the badminton discipline, thus achieving the gold medal for Corrientes.

Another of the highlights of the day was the boxer Gastón Ortega, who managed to beat his opponent from Chaco in the final and keep the maximum achievement.

Meanwhile, the athlete Paz Romero was a silver medal in the 800-meter race, Guillermo Villanueva: silver in the shot put; and basketball 3 vs. 3 female Sub-14, also silver.

In this way, Corrientes closes with total success, both in sports and in human behavior, a new year competing in the National Finals of the Evita Games.

The Department of Sports of the Province, in charge of coordinating the trip, reported that, during yesterday’s siesta hours, the 15 buses that transport the 900 people from Corrientes left for the return trip and it is estimated that the delegation will arrive at their destination today at the morning.

“We achieved the objective, not only the sports one but also that the delegation that is far from their homes is well and does not have any kind of needs. We do not have any health problems, beyond some blows in the competition,” he told NORTH of Corrientes the Secretary of Sports of the Province, Jorge Terrile.

“In individual sports, some finished this Friday and those of the group were in several final instances that ended on Friday afternoon and yesterday. Thus, with this schedule of competitions for the last day we were able to comply with what was planned that after noon we can start to start the trip back to Corrientes,” he said.

“We started the competition in a very good way, achieving first places on the first day and by this Friday the Corrientes delegation already had more than 40 medals won in gold, silver and bronze in many disciplines. We also have national champions of excellence such as the case of cycling, swimming, among others,” said the provincial official.

“We are very satisfied with what the Corrientes athletes achieved. This is no coincidence, but a joint effort and, above all, the support of the Government of the Province that, beyond these difficult years that we had to live through, never left aside sport. We are going to be among the best provinces in the country once we have the medal table with certainty,” he concluded. s
