Budějovice – Vítkovice 2:3 SN, Goulash was not enough for everything, Motor lost for the seventh time in a row

The home team was more active in the opening part thanks to the overtimes offered. As early as in the 3rd minute, the guests fouled the penetrating Pech, but Gulaš did not convert the ordered penalty shot. In the three numerical advantages, the South Bohemians almost did not create any chances, with the exception of Hanzlova’s run after a Gulash shot or an attempt by Dzierkals.

The guests defended consistently, but made mistakes in their own power play. On the blue line, Vítkovice’s combination was spoiled by Hanzl and during a two-on-one drive, he passed to a free Tomeček, who criminally failed to convert the opportunity. The Moravians opened the scoring after a quick action, during which defender Vráblík failed to spot Kalus and he beat Hrachovina from close range.

The South Bohemians carried over the fourth overtime from the end of the first period to the beginning of the second, but they got to the only dangerous shot that Dzierkals failed to make. Shortly before half-time, Gulaš found Pecha in an advantageous position near the right stick, but Stezko was on the spot.

Two seconds after the expiration of the fifth numerical advantage, Šenkeřík sent a puck from the blue line to the border of the left circle to Gulash, and he equalized with a shot without preparation. The Motor captain was in good spirits and soon put his team in the lead when his sharp pass from the right side to Pecha was unintentionally diverted by one of the defenders beyond the goal line. Four seconds before the second siren, Krieger leveled the score with a shot from the left circle during a Přikryla penalty.

Soon after the start of the third period, Vítkovic got a free power play, but with the exception of Krieger’s attempt, they were not dangerous. Nevertheless, the activity remained on their side for a long time, but they ran into a selfless defense and an attentive Hrachovin.

Gulaš or Doudera also tried to shoot, but the match moved into extra time, at the beginning of which Štencel had a great chance. Budějovičí also created other opportunities, but even Fridrich from Vítkovice did not decide, who was caught by Hrachovina six seconds before the siren. Only visiting Bukarts and Krieger were successful in raids.
