Brazil take on Serbia in the final

The Brazilians have dominated Italy three sets to one and will play the fourth final in their history.

Brazil dominated Italy three sets to one (25-23, 22-25, 26-24, 25-19) Thursday in Apeldoorn (Netherlands) to qualify for the final of the Women’s Volleyball World Cup, where they will face Saturday holding the Serbian to conquer a first title in the competition.

The Brazilians, Olympic vice-champions in Tokyo in 2021, deprived Dutch spectators of a repeat of the last final (3-2 for Serbia in 2018), and will compete for world gold for the first time since 2010.

They then had to bow for the second time in a row in the final of the competition against Russia and had to settle for world silver for the third time in their history.

Will the fourth attempt be the right one, on Saturday (8:00 p.m.) in Apeldoorn? They can count against the Serbs of Tijana Boskovic, victorious Wednesday from the United States (3-1), on their solidity against, which disgusted the Italians of Paola Egonu (30 pts).

The Brazilians have thus achieved 21 winning blocks, including almost half (10) for the central Ana Carolina Da Silva.

Serbia will aim for a second world title.
