A sportingly successful baseball season is slowly coming to an end.

Dornbirn. On the last two weekends, the U10, U13, U14 and U16 Austrian Baseball Championships took place. The Dornbirn Indians can draw an extremely positive balance. “For the first time we took part in all four Austrian championships and then we were so successful. The U13 ÖM in Dornbirn was a big baseball festival with many spectators, exciting games and a lot of great feedback,” said Wolfgang Pschorr from the Dornbirn Indians enthusiastically. The successful tournament in Ballpark Dornbirn was also the perfect end to the season for Dornbirn’s baseball club.

After the vice state championship title of the one team at the end of September, the U14 also secured the silver medal at the ÖM in Hard. At the same time, the U10 in Traiskirchen achieved a good sixth place in the ÖM. A week later, Dornbirn’s baseball players invited to Dornbirn to host the U13 ÖM. The young Indians achieved an excellent third place, while the U16 team in Wiener Neustadt together with the Vikings had to admit defeat in the small final for third place.

Next weekend, the slow pitchers will be aiming for the state championship title at the COED Slowpitch ÖM in Wiener Neustadt. Dornbirn’s baseball club can also look back on numerous successful assignments by its members: “In addition to the regular game operations at state and federal level, many of our players have successfully represented the red-white-red colors with the national teams at various European championships,” says Pschorr.

A special thank you goes to the motivated coaches. “All of this would not have been possible without the self-sacrificing and dedicated support of our coaches for the eleven teams in the club,” emphasized Pschorr. (cth)
