SportFEAT.com – Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaro criticized Franco Morbidelli after an incident occurred between the two during the Malaysia 2022 MotoGP race.

The incident occurred before the race which was held at the Sepang Circuit ended.

The failed attempt to overtake Franco Mobidelli (Yamaha) made him crash into Aleix Espargaro’s motorbike on the last lap.

Luckily as a result of the collision, both of them did not fall and could still finish the race.

Fabio Quartararo’s teammate was actually able to finish in 10th position.

However, due to the incident, the Italian driver was sentenced to an additional three seconds.

He also slipped to 11th position.

Meanwhile, Aleix Espargaro moved up one level to 10th.

“I don’t know what this guy did this year,” said Aleix Espargaro, quoted by Speedweek’s Sportfeat.

“I don’t know if he’s from another planet.”

“It gets penalties almost every race, but it keeps doing stupid things.”

Aleix Espargaro admitted that a similar incident had actually happened at the MotoGP Thailand 2022.

“He hit me twice in Thailand, and once again really hard today.

“I don’t know why we didn’t fall. It was around 10th place.”

“He got a three-second penalty, which is good for me because I got the points for it.”

“But he has to start last or from pit lane.”

“I don’t know what happened, but I was lucky I didn’t fall.”

Meanwhile, by finishing in 10th position, it means that Aleix Espargaro’s chances of winning the 2022 MotoGP world title are officially closed.

The reason is, now 46 points adrift of Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) who at the same time won the race.

With a collection of 212 points, Aleix Espargaro is still in third place in the standings.

On the other hand, his position in the top three is still not very secure.

Leaving one more series, the 2022 Valencia MotoGP, Aleix Espargaro is only one point ahead of Enea Bastianini (Gresini) who is in fourth position.

“I am very disappointed after today because the dream of the World Championship is over, but I am proud of Aprilia,” said Aleix Espargaro.

“We come to Valencia and we still have a chance to finish third.”

“But it seems the dream is too big for us.”

“We have to learn from this and be better in the future.”

The Valencia 2022 MotoGP race itself will be held on November 6, 2022.
