2nd Bundesliga: FC St. Pauli – SV Darmstadt 98 1: 1 – strong unbeaten run | Sports

Darmstadt’s unbeaten streak continues! The lilies play 1:1 at St. Pauli.

With the draw against the team of Timo Schultz (45), the Darmstadt team has now been without bankruptcy for 15 games in all competitions. The last one was on the first league match day in Regensburg (0:2) – 106 days ago.

The lilies have forgotten how to lose!

60 minutes: Darmstadt’s Ronstadt moves 17 meters in front of the goal into the middle, leaves two opponents standing – and thrashes the ball into the far corner. What a goal! And that from an ex-HSV man (played from 2012 to 2018 in the Hamburg youth and in the second team).

The St. Pauli answer is not long in coming!

69 minutes: The ball lands at Daschner via Eggestein and Metcalfe. He just has to push in – 1:1.

With the draw, Darmstadt remains at the top of the table, while St. Pauli is in a relegation battle. And that despite a strong home record. The Kiezkicker haven’t lost a game at home this season (three wins, four draws). The Millerntor is a fortress – even against the leaders.

SVD trainer Torsten Lieberknecht: “Both teams had their good phases. We could have done better after the 1-0. After the 1-1 draw, we showed stability and remained undefeated again. The draw was ultimately fair and we can live with that.”

St. Pauli coach Timo Schultz: “I was particularly pleased that we put it down 0-1 and could have scored even more. But we’re happy about the point against the league leaders.”

Curious: At Darmstadt, the list of injuries is now so long that Brunst and Kroll even have two (!) goalkeepers on the reserve bench – unusual! One place on the game report sheet even remains completely empty. But it’s still enough for the draw at St. Pauli…
