44th National Judo Tournament for Boys: Highlights and Results from the Kodokan Venue

The 44th National Judo Tournament for Boys was held on May 4th and 5th at the Kodokan in Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo. The 48 teams that won the preliminaries in each prefecture had the honor of participating (2 teams from Tokyo).

The first day, the 4th, was a joint training session. After Yuya Yoshida (Asahi Kasei), chairman of the All Juren Athlete Committee, gave a lecture, Kentaro Iida (Asahi Kasei), Shin Kageura (Japan Racing Association), Tsukasa Yoshida (Komatsu), Karen Nun’ira (SBC Tokyo Medical College), and others attended. served as a lecturer and provided guidance to approximately 300 boys and girls.

On the final day, the 5th, a match practice was held by a five-person team (5th, 5th, 6th, 6th, 6th grade, arranged in order of weight within the same grade, students one year younger may participate). The 16 teams that won the three-team qualifying league competed for the championship in a tournament format.
