“You wouldn’t like Edwin when he’s angry” “That’s a bit hot”

MLB fans were in awe of New York Mets star pitcher Edwin Diaz hitting a new record with an absolutely scorching 103 MPH fastball. He was the final pitch of the eighth inning and was nearly impossible to hit.

It’s not often that a single pitch leaves MLB fans in awe, but that’s exactly what Diaz managed to do. Being a pitch against the Los Angeles Dodgers was an added benefit.

SNY Network posted a clip of the evil fastball on Twitter.

The pitch came on the heels of a controversial referee decision, so Diaz took matters into his own hands. It was a crucial strikeout for the New York Mets as it allowed them to get to ninth with at least a two-run lead.

@SNYtv You wouldn’t like Edwin when he’s angry.

This was the hardest pitch Diaz has thrown in his MLB career.

Diaz has established himself as one of the best closing shooters in the league, and this helps prove that point.

@SNYtv Now that it’s a little hot ????????

Having a bona fide closing pitcher is rare in modern MLB. Very few relief pitchers are guaranteed to maintain an advantage by shutting down opposing offenses. Along with one of the best innings in baseball, Edwin Diaz is capable of amazing things on the mound.

@SNYtv The best closer in the game. Ez.

This is a standout moment that will be remembered, even in the midst of a season filled with Edwin Diaz highlights.

The pitch went right down the middle, but there was nothing the batter could do. That doesn’t happen often in the major leagues.

When Edwin Diaz calls, the New York Mets are nearly unbeatable. Even against the best teams in the National League, the Mets can win with their extremely talented pitching staff.

The New York Mets are peaking at the perfect time and will be tough for those playing in the playoffs.

Edwin Diaz and the rest of the New York Mets pitching staff are the best in the MLB

The trio of Max Scherzer, Jacob deGrom and Edwin Diaz seem completely unbeatable. Even a very talented playoff team would have a hard time recording runs. With the talent of the Mets pitching staff, the offense may have some underperforming games.

While expectations are high, the Mets appear to be up to the challenge. If they can hold off the Atlanta Braves, they’ll be the NL East champions. No MLB team wants to hear the trumpets signaling Diaz’s journey to the mound in the playoffs.
