Lahm and Khedira sign in Stuttgart!
This is a VfB revolution!
At the general meeting, CEO Alexander Wehrle (47) announced: The world champions and former Stuttgart professionals Philipp Lahm (38) and Sami Khedira (35) will be advisors to the VfB board and the executive committee with immediate effect!

In addition, Christian Gentner (37) will take on a new role in the management of the licensed players area from next year, ex-striker Cacau (41) will become the new brand ambassador. VfB is thus repositioning itself for a more successful future.
Wehrle: “We have to position ourselves more broadly in sport and get new perspectives. That’s why we’re expanding our sports expertise to include two world champions. Welcome back to the VfB family.”
Wehrle decided to take this step, on the one hand, to bring continuity to the club management, which was recently shaken by turbulence, but also to bring in the knowledge and experience of experts with football skills. BILD knows: Lahm and Khedira were chosen because of the following criteria, among others: A high level of identification with VfB, outstanding experience and expertise in professional football and a long-term commitment.
Lahm is currently the managing director of DFB Euro GmbH and thus the German EM boss. In addition, the Munich native, who wore the VfB jersey from 2003 to 2005, has been a businessman since the end of his career in 2017, including as a partner in “Schneekoppe” and owner of “Sixtus” (care products).
Khedira, who went through the youth teams of VfB from 1995 and played with the professionals from 2006 to 2010, has been working as a Champions League expert for the “DAZN” streaming service since this season.
What’s next for VfB sports director Sven Mislintat (49)? So far no talks have been held.
Do the new personal details affect the future of Sven Mislintat (49)? The sports director’s contract expires next summer. There have been no recent talks about an extension. However, it is not yet clear what the cooperation will look like in the future.
Wehrle: “In the next few weeks we will work out the exact task profile together with Sven Mislintat and Markus Rüdt”.
After the game at FC Bayern (2: 2), Mislintat made a strange appearance in the mixed zone, gave an application speech: “I know exactly what job I’ve done for VfB so far and I believe even after this transfer period that I a good choice.”
