The Municipality took charge, once again, of carrying out a maintenance intervention in via Volta, where too many times people who have no respect for public facilities had destroyed the rings and nets of the baskets, preventing everyone else from being able to enjoy in a free way – he claims Lucia Traversi, managing director of SportNow we rely on people’s civic sense: respect is needed to avoid further expenditure of money which, in a moment like the present one, would be difficult to implement in the short term ”. Even as a result of reports received from citizenship, the Municipality of Usmate Velate already at the turn of 2021 and 2022 he had already carried out multiple maintenance and replacement interventions concerning the pitch in via Volta, unfortunately always finished with further damage to the street furniture.

The maintenance aspect involves a considerable effort at an economic level which then ends up penalizing those who only want to be able to use public spaces and public structures in full compliance with them. – adds the councilor Traversi – To date, Velate has two spaces in which to practice basketball in perfect condition: in addition to the one in via Volta, the one in via Verdi is also open, where it is possible to compete in three-on-three matches. Towards both, we ask only to have respect and to enjoy them thinking only of living aggregative moments in the open air. Not only that: on the part of the users, I invite them to respect the timetables and the presence of the people who live around these meeting places “.
