Too big for Switzerland

Roger Federer ended his career as one of the greatest athletes in history. Not only the successes, but also the modesty with which he accepted them makes him an exceptional phenomenon. Everywhere in the world this is appreciated more than at home.

The blue metal sign with the number 225 on the St. Galler Ring in Basel is screwed into the rotten wood. Next to it, a white sign with a yellow tennis ball and black inscription indicates the owner of the barracks: TC Old Boys Basel. The address is in the middle of a well-groomed neighborhood street, of which there are dozens in Swiss cities. Majestic trees line the street and make you forget that you are in the middle of Switzerland’s third largest city.
