Before comeback: Tennis star Zverev plays with 98-year-old Ukrainians

Tennis star Alexander Zverev completed a special training session shortly before the start of the Davis Cup group phase in Hamburg. The Olympic champion hit some balls with 98-year-old Ukrainian Leonid Stanislavski, who is said to be the oldest active tennis player in the world.

  • Zverev’s unusual training partner is in the Guinness Book of Records and recently competed at the Super Seniors World Championship in Palm Beach / Florida. Stanislawski has also measured himself against Rafael Nadal and dreams of meeting Roger Federer.
  • In the Davis Cup, Germany will play against France (September 14), Belgium (September 16) and Australia (September 18) in the intermediate round tournament in Hamburg. Zverev will make his comeback three months after his serious ligament injury.
