The PGA Tour is planning a surprise for Scottie Scheffler!

During a ceremony given in his honor on the occasion of an American football match in Austin (Texas), Scottie Scheffler was surprised to receive the Jack Nicklaus Award for player of the year on the PGA Tour and which is the subject of a vote of the players of the American circuit.

Nominated with Rory Mcllroy and Cameron Smith for the title of best player of the season on the PGA Tour Scottie Scheffler received the most votes.
The four-time winner this season is ahead of FedEx Cup winner Rory McIlroy and winner of The Open at St Andrews Cameron.

World No. 1 and victorious Masters in April Scheffler has indeed received 89% of votes and was presented with the Jack Nicklaus Awards during College GameDay ahead of the college football game between Alabama and Texas held in Austin.

The Texan’s incredible season kicked off in February, when the 26-year-old with an unbeaten PGA Tour record beat Patrick Cantlay in play-off au WM Phoenix Open on the TPC Scottsdale course. He then followed up with a success at Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill and triumphed at WGC Match Play.

At the beginning of April Scheffler, then world No. 1, was quick to win his first major in Augusta. His green jacket he owes it to no one as he has shown himself to be intractable for 4 tours in Georgia.

In June he tied for second at the US Open with Will Zalatoris behind Matt Fitzpatrick.

His only real disappointment is probably his failure in his quest for the season’s No. 1 spot on the PGA Tour after losing at the Tour Championship, the final stage of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

With young stars like Scottie, the PGA Tour is in good hands for many years to come.
