Sponsored by the People’s Government of Fujian Province and organized by the Fujian Provincial Department of Education and the Fujian Provincial Sports Bureau, the college basketball competition of the 17th Fujian Provincial Games ended successfully in the four competition areas after nearly a month of intense competition.
This basketball game is divided into 4 groups. Among them, the men’s competitions of Group A and Group C will be held in the Huaqiao University competition area; the women’s competitions of Group A and Group C will be held in the competition area of Xiamen University of Technology; the competition of Group A and B will be held in Xiamen University. The competition area is held; the Group B competition is held in the Jimei University competition area. More than 1,800 athletes and coaches from 95 sports teams from 62 undergraduate colleges, independent colleges and vocational colleges in the province participated in the event. During the competition, they dared to fight, persevered, and vividly displayed the good spirit of college students who are “unity, friendship, and forging ahead”.
Group A and A are the preliminaries. Xiamen University of Technology, Fujian Police College, Huaqiao University, Quanzhou Normal University, Fujian Jiangxia University, Xiamen Institute of Technology, Fuzhou Technology and Business College, and Ningde Normal University advanced to the top eight men in Group A. Jiageng of Xiamen University College, Fujian Normal University, Xiamen University, Huaqiao University, Jimei University, Minnan University of Science and Technology, Fujian Institute of Technology, and Minnan Normal University advanced to the top eight women in Group A. The Group A final will be held in Nanping in November.
In Group A and B, the teams of Huaqiao University, Xiamen University, and Fujian Normal University won the top three men’s teams, and the Xiamen University of Technology and Jimei University teams won the first and second women’s teams.
In the second group competition, Fujian Normal University, Fujian Normal University of Technology, Minnan Institute of Technology won the top three men’s teams, Jimei University, Fujian Normal University teams won the first and second women’s.
In the group C competition, the representative teams of Fujian Shipping and Transportation Vocational College, Zhangzhou Vocational and Technical College, and Xiamen Software Vocational and Technical College won the top three men’s teams. The women’s top three.
This competition provided a platform for college basketball players in our province to exchange competition and improve their level, and also tested the ability of colleges and universities in our province to organize large-scale sports events. The experience has also provided valuable replicable practice for the successful organization of the competition under the background of normalized epidemic prevention and control.
