Tennis: Junín hosted an important National Tournament

On the courts of the Sarmiento and BAP clubs in our city, the final matches of a tennis tournament were played, with the participation of around 60 players from Junín and the region. The city will once again host another important tournament, this time for adults. In this way, and as occurs with many other disciplines, the city is positioned as a benchmark for major sporting events.

The Coordination Secretary, Walter Petrecca, and the Director of Sports, Claudio Yópolo, went to the Sarmiento club facilities to observe the development of the tournament and congratulate the great work carried out by Professor Leandro Verón, promoter of these tournaments and reference of discipline in the institution.

Precisely, Leandro Verón, commented that «during this weekend, the city hosted an important national tournament for minors, in the sub 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 categories. Around 60 boys from Junín and the region were the protagonists of it and we are very happy with how it has developed”, he also remarked that “this is the result of the growth that tennis has had in our city in recent years”.

“Every time we request a date to hold these tournaments from the Argentine Tennis Association, we always have the go-ahead to do so, that is why, on average, once a month we host national tournaments, this is thanks to the permanent support of many sponsors and fundamentally from the Municipality, which is always present. Without this, it would be very difficult to hold these tournaments in the city », he said.

To conclude, Professor Leandro Verón announced that «starting this Monday, September 26, an important senior tournament will be starting in Junín, which will last 15 days and which, for the first time, will be held. We have 250 registered in singles, doubles and mixed categories. We are happy to see this club and everyone, always full of young and old, that is why we continue to invite Juninenses to join this sport.

Meanwhile, Claudio Yópolo, head of the municipal sports portfolio, also remarked that “it is very pleasing to see the moment that Junín is going through with all the sports disciplines and that is the result of the efforts of the teachers and leaders who dedicate many hours of the day in the clubs so that, in each discipline, you always improve. We are convinced that to continue on this path we all have to work together, that is what happens and every weekend and every day, in all the clubs, you can see the results, with important tournaments that take place here.
