After dominating on the FIBA 3×3 Tour, Team Canada ended the season on a high by defeating France in the final game at the final stop in Constanta, Romania.
The team made up of Kacie Bosch, Paige Crozon, Michelle Plouffe and Katherine Plouffe won all of their matches in the last tournament of the 2022 season. They beat Romania, France and Lithuania in the group stage before going to battle with Germany in the semi-finals then France again in the final for the title.
Early in the game against the French, Canada took the lead, but their opponents stepped on the gas to double the Canadian points and put the scoreboard 12-6. While the game seemed lost for the Maple Leaf, Michelle Plouffe and her teammates took a time out to regroup and change the pace of the game. The Canadians led 17-13 at one point in the game and held off a late push from France to win 21-16.
Michelle Plouffe: Most Valuable Player
Michelle Plouffe was Canada’s spark plug with a monster performance scoring 14 of her team’s 21 points. Named best player of the competition, she declared in an interview that her teammates and they believed in it until the end and dedicated this title to their supporters.
A faultless journey
Earlier in the competition, Team Canada topped Group A with a 22-5 victory over Romania before beating France and Lithuania by the same scoreline 21-12. is qualified directly for the semi-finals where he had an appointment with Germany. The Canadians didn’t make a fuss in this match, which they won 21-8 before meeting the French again in the final.

In total, the Canadian team will have won four tournaments this season on the FIBA 3×3 circuit, including titles in Edmonton, Bucharest, Montreal and the final title in Constanta.
