Stephen Curry is about to renew his contract with Under Armor.
Under Armor has been the outfitter of NBA star Stephen Curry since 2013. The American sports market would like to extend the cooperation with the 34-year-old for life. The new contract could be a real windfall for Curry.
As reported by Rolling Stone magazine, the four-time NBA champion is about to sign the new deal. This would bring him over a billion dollars. More details are not known.
First athlete with a lifetime deal
His current contract with Under Armor runs until 2024 and is worth $245 million. In order to prevent a possible loss of the superstar of the Golden State Warriors, the Baltimore company would like to extend as soon as possible.
In addition to Curry, sports greats such as Anthony Joshua, Tom Brady and Michael Phelps are under contract with Under Armour. Curry would be only the third basketball player after LeBron James and Michael Jordan to be given a lifetime contract. (mab)
