Speciale Team starts again with an open day
After two years of canceled or reduced activity, Special Team ’87 returns to gather children and teenagers for a new season of basketball and fun.
On Tuesday 27 September 2022, from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm, an Open day will be held dedicated to the project and to all interested parties: the staff of instructors and volunteers will be available to families to tell their extraordinary experience of sport and life.
Special Team ’87 Pavia ASD and then basketball team made up of mentally disabled and able-bodied players. As in all teams, the different qualities integrate and refine: athletes with disabilities to acquire skills useful for life, companions to have a truly unique sporting and relationship life experience.
The initiative is inspired by the experiences of the technician Marco Calamai: use basketball as a language to relate to the world and to others.

A sporting and social project
Special Team ’87 is a sports and social project conceived by a group of basketball fans, some of whom were professional players in Serie A and protagonists of the extraordinary adventure of Annabella Pavia in 1987, made possible thanks to the support of the Ravizza brothers, who have always enthusiastically supported the initiative, and with the patronage of the Panathlon Club Pavia. It is un initiative open to everyone, both people with disabilities and the able-bodied, aged 6 and up. The home field is the San Mauro Oratory, in via Folla di Sopra in Pavia.
