Sparta – Vítkovice 5:3, Sparta knocked Vítkovice off the top of the table

Ostrava started without forwards Peter Mueller, Lukáš Krenželok, Vojtěch Lednický and Roman Půček and the suspended back Patrik Koch. Jakub Šlahař came to the rescue on an alternate start from the first league Poruba. Goalkeeper Lukáš Klimeš replaced Aleš Stezky for the first time this season. The home team was missing Erik Thorell and Dominik Simon returned to it.

Sparta regained a two-goal lead 76 seconds before the end of the first period. Horák forced Raskog into a mistake with a forecheck, and after Řepík’s backhand attempt bounced off the back rail at the left post, he succeeded from the stop.

At the beginning of the second half, the Ostravas defended themselves against Kalus’s penalty, but in the 26th minute Sparta added another goal during a four-on-four game. Defender Graňák scored after Sobotek’s pass. Before the half of the match, Vítkovice corrected the situation with Polášek’s penalty. Although the referee did not recognize Bukarts’ shot from the left circle due to the alleged position of Kalus in the goal area, the goal was allowed after the coach’s challenge after checking the video.

When Mikliš was sent off, the home team had already defended themselves, but Vítkovice got in touch 61 seconds before the second break. Krieger won the throw-in in the left circle and Bukarts promptly hit the goal in the opposite upper corner.

In the final act, the guests resisted Lindberg’s penalty, but Sparta kept a narrow lead and did not let the opponent have chances. Klimeš threatened Kaš, on the other hand Bukarts did not have an accurate fly ball when attempting a hat trick.

In the 55th minute, after Řepík’s action, Klimeš kept the visitors in the game, covering Sobotko’s chance with a catcher. With Marosz’s expulsion, the guests continued the power play and 41 seconds before the end, Lakatoš fouled the empty goal of the escaping Přbyl, who was awarded a technical goal.
